Changes to OOOOa and OOOO Regulations

On June 30, 2021, President Biden signed a joint resolution from Congress that negates the 2020 changes to OOOO and OOOOa regulations. This could have some major changes for oil and gas companies with facilities required to comply with OOOO and OOOOa regulations. One of the major changes is that the LDAR inspections for subject facilities have gone back to Quarterly Inspections, starting immediately. Fire Extinguishers

Had a client today contact us regarding some new fire extinguishers. After meeting with the client, we found that another consultant told them they needed new fire extinguishers because the ones they had were ‘too old.’ This could not be more untrue. Fire extinguishers do not ‘expire’. A typical, dry powder extinguisher needs services annually to ensure it is charged and functional, every 6 years they need inspected internally and the mechanisms and seals checked, and every 12 years they need hydrotested to ensure the shell can still withstand the required pressure. If the extinguisher passes the inspections or hydrotest, it will be marked as passed, and is good to go! Don’t let another consultant talk you into expenses you don’t need. We will always be honest with our clients, and help keep you compliant at the lowest cost to you.

Weed Spraying activities are winding down for our project with the city of Aztec. JAKD would like to thank the citizens of Aztec for their hospitality and kindness. Our staff was offered drinks on hot days, kind words by homeowners, and courteous drivers during our roadside and median spraying activities. A big THANK YOU to the City of Aztec!
